One of the biggest concerns I hear from people traveling from elsewhere are what the weather will be like for their session. And I'm here to tell you—even after eight years of photographing all around the Flathead Valley—I do not know. Our weather is so variable no matter the month or week the best I can do is tell you what you should be able to expect. But come the actual day of your session all bets are off.
What I do know is there is really nothing Northwest Montana can throw our way that will completely ruin our opportunities for beautiful photos and backdrops. With the way Ashley and Grant's engagement session was shaping up, I was fully prepared for a dreary and rainy summer evening. It was just that kind of summer this year. But here we were in West Glacier, and while there were clouds filling the sky, there were no raindrops to be had.
Ultimately it resulted in the perfect, semi-flat lighting and a moody sky as the sun set. And despite it probably being chillier than it should've been you'll see they embraced my question of whether or not they'd like to hop in Lake McDonald at the end of our time together.
